The aspects of web development that excite me are User Interface, Building the Backend, Managing Updates, Databases and Design Concepts. I know that all of this is not covered in the course work, however, starting with this foundation will give me transferable skills to build on in order to move into any one of these fields.
My goals after this course work is to start in QA or Web Design. I will build a foundation with an entry level job positions and work on obtaining certificates in the related field.
Outside of of class I will get work on managing work with my studies. I have down time at work so I will use that time to go over course work and I will use the new information we received about short and long term memory to program my brain to retain the information that we are being taught.
A barrier that may present a problem is the money i make week to week fluncuates and sometimes i have to work a great deal of overtime to cover my living expenses. When this happens i will have less time to study and do assignments. I do have down time at work so i will used that to do class work and study. The only thing about work is eventually i will have to go back and it will disrupt my study time.
I have built a couple of websites but i think the problem is that i didnt take notes or go over the processes that i used in order to create the sites so when i had to go back and update or change something it proved to be difficult. I had one website with a company i made called Crystels and Candles through shopify and i also built a website for Women Driving Uber which had helpful tips and information about being an Uber Driver. The concepts of building the sites are similar in a lot of ways but also have very different techniques to set them up. I worked for a ecommerce company where we had 4 page websites for people who bought a specific packages and we were the first line of tech support to help with images, text, and font, etc on the sites. I attempted Adobe Photo Shop a few times but it was really difficult to grasp the concepts. I do well with Adobe PDF making edits to basic text pages. I am excited to learn and create with this new knowledge I will be receiving. This trajectory is set for success.
